Reassembly and restoration of the major altar of the Chiesa Parrocchiale dell'Assunta

The works on the presbytery’s vault were required to solve problems caused by collapses and landslides of a purely structural nature. The masonry vault highlights a widespread cracking picture due to structural breakdowns and many of the lesions affected the entire thickness of the vault while a reticulum of secondary fractures was the cause of a widespread detachment of the plasters from the wall with local phenomena of fall. All of the restoration operations have been aimed at achieving the following objectives: to stop the degradation phenomena found in the architectural artifact; to retain the constituent materials and recover the functional deficits of the coverings.
