Consolidation and restoration of the Temple of San Concordio and the first five arches of the Monumental Aqueduct
The Nottolini Aqueduct is a “Roman” style aqueduct built between 1823 1851. The Temple of San Concordio and the first five arches of the Aqueduct are characterized by cryptic paintings and phenomena of degradation, with characteristics of a real static instability that seem caused mainly by heat pressures, exerted by the arches of the aqueduct. The intervention is characterized by important structural interventions in addition to the works of consolidation of the walls and restoration of the external stone coverings and the terracotta flooring of the terrace. The consolidation, in particular for the upper drum and the arcades, takes place through the insertion of steel elements.
